The IC200GBI001 Genius Network Interface Unit (NIU) is a VersaMax distributed I/O interface for Genius bus systems. It hosts and supervises up to eight I/O modules per rack across a maximum of eight racks, providing 1024 discrete points and 128 bytes each of analog input and output memory. Two Genius bus terminals support primary and redundant connections in a daisy‑chain topology, with serial bus addressing from 0 to 31. Supported data rates include 153.6 kbaud (extended and standard), 76.8 kbaud, and 38.4 kbaud, subject to network distance and loading. The NIU provides user diagnostics via indicators including PWR, OK, FAULTS, I/O ENBL, FORCE, SBA ERR, and BUS B, and supports media and hardware redundancy. Power requirements include 5 V at 250 mA and 3.3 V at 10 mA. Compatible controllers include Series 90‑70 and PACSystems RX7i/RX3i. Termination options are 75, 100, 120, or 150 ohms, and wiring can utilize shielded twisted pair with optional fiber interfaces.
